International Women's Day 2022
Gender Parity At TEC
Almost 600 women make up TEC's global workforce, equating to nearly 60% of our total employees. At TEC, seniority and career progression are dependent on ingenuity and work ethic instead of gender, and we are proud that our organisation continues to champion women in the workforce.
How Are We Celebrating International Women's Day This Year?
With this year's theme being #BreakTheBias, we've asked our female leaders and teammates from across our regions to share inspiring stories and experiences that have shaped and moulded them to the people they are today and about gender misconceptions that they'd like to address.
These stories originated from two core questions:
1) What progress have you seen on gender equality in the workplace?
2) What types of stereotypes would you like to break for yourself?
Our campaign also focused the IWD's mission of Empowerment. Through our social channels, we ran an initiative that gave our followers the opportunity to receive a one-on-one mentoring session with one of our TEC Teammates and experts from a variety of disciplines. In order to participate, our followers had to submit a picture of themselves posing in this year's International Women's Day stance of an X with arms crossed and answer our question ‘What advice would you give to your younger selves?'.
In addition, TEC Australia partnered with SisterWorks, a Not-For-Profit & social enterprise helping migrant and refugee women learn business skills that can help empower their careers in the country. The collaboration consisted of an in-centre pop-up marketplace alongside insightful presentations led by the organiser who in turn had used SisterWorks when she first moved to Australia.
TEC Philippines hosted an International Women's Day panel discussion featuring a discussion with leading female pioneers about breaking the bias in the corporate world.
In Hong Kong, TEC collaborated with the French Chamber of Commerce and Societe Generale to host a multi-sector panel discussion with industry experts for their latest instalment of HeForShe Series. Our Managing Director for Global Marketing & Communications, Chelsea Perino spoke on female empowerment and gender bias in the workplace.
The Executive Centre South Asia liaised with CBRE and Colliers to showcase two virtual webinars, ‘Women's Network is a Leadership Panel Discussion' and ‘Women Learning & Development Forum'. The webinars invited Nidhi Marwah, our Group Managing Director of South Asia & GCC as a trusted keynote speaker and panellist.
Gender equality and International Women's Day has been instrumental in building our workforce and cultures, the way we programme our events and webinars and has become the foundation for many successful partnerships over our 28-year tenure.
This International Women's Day, hear from our Founder & CEO, Paul Salnikow, on his key takeaways and message.
