Why International Women’s Day Is Still Vital in 2024

Learn about how TEC celebrates and inspires inclusion for women in the workplace and why IWD is still vital in 2024.
International Women's Day: Women forming a heart shape to celebrate the achievements and empowerment of women worldwide

International Women's Day serves as a momentous occasion to reflect on the strides we have taken towards gender equality and reflect on the challenges that still exists for women in 2024. At The Executive Centre, we’re proud to be a company that advocates for women in leadership, with 51 per cent of our senior management being women.

In this article, we summarised why International Women’s Day is still vital in 2024, and interviewed some of our TEC female leaders on what inclusion means to them. Together, let’s honour the accomplishments of women, continuously advocate for their rights, and forge a path towards a more gender-balanced future in 2024.

Embracing Inclusion

Inclusion is not merely an abstract concept; it is a powerful catalyst for change. It invites us to acknowledge and appreciate the unique experiences and contributions of women from all walks of life. According to the WHO, it will still take 131 years for gender parity to be reached—that’s year 2154.

The theme of #InspireInclusion underscores the pivotal role of inclusive practices in achieving gender equality. It calls for dismantling barriers, challenging stereotypes, and cultivating environments where all women are valued and respected.

TEC Women: Leading the Way

At TEC, we take immense pride in being champions of inclusion and diversity, promoting individuals based on their merit and ingenuity. From our talented baristas to dedicated associates, visionary managers to accomplished regional directors, our diverse workforce is the bedrock of our success.

Central to our commitment to #InspireInclusion is empowering women in leadership and decision-making roles. We recognise the invaluable contributions of women in our organisation, and it fills us with great admiration to share that half of our senior management positions are held by women.
